Joseph E. Koren, 92, of Spike Island Osceola Mills, PA died on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on July 28, 1926 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late George and Veronica (Hollis) Koren. He married Constance I. (Nevill) Koren on February 3, 1950 in Williamsport, PA: she preceded him in death on November 30, 2010
Joseph was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a retired meat cutter for A & P Stores. He was a member of: the VFW #5020 in Osceola Mills, PA; the American Legion; K of C Council # 2250, in Osceola Mills, PA and graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: one son, David Koren; three sisters, Sue, Mary, and Veronica; five brothers, John, Albert, Michael, Paul and William.
He is survived by: two sons, Edward J. Koren of Spike Island Osceola Mills, PA and James N. Koren of Williamsport, PA; and one grandson, Matthew C. Koren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA: with Rev. Father Robert Horgas celebrant. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services LLC in Osceola Mills, PA.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard at the funeral home.
