Vanetta L. Kennedy

Kara Johnson (niece)

Aunt Vanetta
I have very fond memories of my childhood of either your visits to Kansas or my visits to Pennsylvania. May you Rest In Peace and give a special hug to all gone before you. I loved your Appalachian accent and you being a true “lady” and wonderful Aunt to us all. Your generosity every Christmas was more than you should’ve done, but was appreciated. You are loved and will be missed terribly, but you’re next journey is with no pain and life everafter with Jesus! We will see each other one day again. Love you mostest! Prayers for the Pennsylvania folk and families and friends.

On behalf of the Osceola Mills Community Historical Foundation; I want to extend our condolences and sympathies to Vanetta’s family, friends and loved ones. Vanetta was a founding member of the OMCHF in 1987. She dedicated an immense amount of time to organizing the foundation, maintaining the Brisbin House Museum, and adding to the OMCHF’s collection of local artifacts.

Vanetta logged countless hours welcoming museum visitors and conducting tours. As many founding members became older or passed on; Vanetta remained the personification of the OMCHF. Even as age caught up with her; she remained, and will always remain, a cornerstone of Osceola Mills and its richly storied past. We are grateful for Vanetta and may she rest in peace.
