John E. Kendrick
John E. “Teacher’s Pet” Kendrick, 77, of Philipsburg, PA died at his home on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
Born on February 18, 1945, in Grassflat, PA, he was the son of the late John E. Kendrick, Sr. & Elizabeth (Abernathy) Kendrick. He married Carol Baughman on June 15, 1974, in Bigler, PA; she survives at home.
John was of the Christian Faith. He was a member of the Osceola Mills Lodge #515 F. & A. M., B.P.O.Elks #1173 in Philipsburg, PA, VFW Post #5020 in Osceola Mills, PA and the Mt. Top Cruisers.
He was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.
John was retired from Internation Union of operating Engineers Local 66, as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
He was an avid fan of his grandchildren’s athletic events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Marjorie Stokes, Betty Campbell and Mary Ann Wisor; and a brother Robert Kendrick.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by a daughter, Brandi E. Vaughn & her husband Brent of Philipsburg, PA; a son Matthew T. Kendrick & his wife Stephanie of Mechanicsburg, PA; and seven grandchildren, Kendall, Madison, Gavin, Morgan, Mason, Grayson and Grant.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, in Osceola Mills, PA. Pastor Matt Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg, PA.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 12:30 until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
Military honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
