Charlotte L. Kanour
Charlotte L. (Dunlap) Kanour, 87, of Osceola Mills, PA and formerly of Clearfield, PA died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Colonial Courtyard in Tyrone, PA.
Born on October 22, 1930 in Sayre, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Dunlap and Margaret E. (Walker) Dunlap. She married Robert B. Kanour on June 12, 1954 in Osceola Mills, PA: he preceded her in death on October 24, 2000.
Charlotte was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church and a former member of the West Side United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA.
She was a retired Educator from the Clearfield Area School District, where she taught second grade at the Third Ward Elementary School. She was a 1949 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School, she received her bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University in 1953 and her master’s degree from Penn State University.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, one brother, Charles R. “Chuck” Dunlap.
She is survived by: one daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Ransel and her husband Andrew of Osceola Mills, PA; one sister, Margaret “Peggy” Fravel and her husband Rev. Dr. Raymond Fravel of York, PA; and one brother, Fred “Tim” Dunlap and his wife Jane of Osceola Mills, PA.
Private Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family: with Rev. Dr. Raymond D. Fravel officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA.
