Twila M. Jury
Twila M. Jury, 94, of Clearfield, PA died on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on September, 4, 1924 in Clearfield, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Beers) Lauver. She married Bennie C. Jury who preceded her in death in 1973.
She was a member of the Kerradition United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA.
After Twila graduated from Scotland High School for Veteran’s Children in Scotland, PA with high honors, she begins her career as a hair stylist in Chambersburg, PA. There she saved to pursue a dream of aviation lessons having taken a few lessons and yearned for more, however due to WWII she returned home and worked at the “defense plant” to support the war efforts. After the war she returned to work as a hair stylist and met and married Bennie. She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She was an avid reader, loved playing 500 rummy with her grandchildren and many great ones too. She loved family reunions, the outdoors, and holiday decorating every room in her home. Two weeks before Twila passed, she made the comment, “I am driving up to Heaven.” She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: one daughter Ruby L. Boyd; one grandson; and three sisters.
She is survived by: two daughters, Barbara A. Hufnagel & her husband Tom of Philipsburg, PA and Jeannette M. Martell of Erie, PA; two sons, Sam Jury & his wife Sue of Nescopeck, PA and Ben Jury & his wife Cheryl of Huston, PA; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by: one son-in-law, Mark Boyd of Clearfield, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kerradition United Methodist Church in Clearfield, PA with Pastor Mark Brower officiating.
Burial will be at the Bradford Cemetery in Woodland, PA.
