Geraldine B. “Deanie” Jaskowak
Geraldine B. “Deanie” Jaskowak, 93 of Osceola Mills, PA passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Mrs. Jaskowak was born on March 17, 1919 to the late Freeman & Hazel (Airsman) Burns in Osceola Mills, PA. She was married to Francis J. Jaskowak on February 14, 1950 in Osceola Mills, PA; he preceded her in death on May 20, 2011. Her first husband was James Morris Richards, Sr., who she married on September 4, 1943 at Parish Natchitoches, LA; he passed away on January 13, 1949.
She was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church and the Woman’s Auxiliary VFW #5020 in Osceola Mills, PA. Mrs. Jaskowak was the owner of the former Deanie’s Flower Shop in Osceola Mills, PA. She graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School and the former Altoona Business School.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Lois Reiter; and a brother Freeman “Bud” Burns.
Mrs Jaskowak is survived by: four sons, James M. Richards & his wife Darlene of Howard, PA, Jerome L. Richards & his wife Jardy of Rockledge, FL, Edward Jaskowak & his wife Lynnette of Tyrone, PA, and Daniel Jaskowak & his wife Louise of Casper, WY; a brother, John “Jack” Burns & his wife Ruth of Philipsburg, PA; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Osceola Mills United Church with pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, Pa.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA.
