Rhelda E. Hummel
Rhelda E. Hummel, 75, of Sandy Ridge, PA died on Sunday, February 25. 2018 at her home.
Born on December 7, 1942 in Osceola Mills, PA she was the daughter of the late Robert C and Ruth (Keith) Tormey. She married Kenneth E. Hummel, Sr. on August 28, 1980 in Winchester, VA: he preceded her in death on December 17, 2002.
She was a member of the C & M A Church in Osceola Mills, PA, the Mountain Top Fire Company in Sandy Ridge, PA and she was very active in the Osceola Mills School All Class Reunions.
Rhelda retired from the Penn State University in 2004 as an Unemployment Specialist and was a 1960 graduate of the Philipsburg Osceola High School.
She is survived by: one daughter, Sharon Glasgow & her husband William of Alexandria, VA; two sons, Timothy L. Sharpless & his wife Deana of Sandy Ridge, PA and L. Scott Sharpless & his wife Jennifer of Sandy Ridge, PA; two sisters, Ethel Mae Hall of Bellefonte, PA and Ruthann Brien of Kings Park, Australia; one brother, Robert D. Tormey of Osceola Mills, PA; five grandchildren, Ryan Glasgow, Hannah Sharpless, Emily Glasgow, Lara Sharpless and Kristie Sharpless; and four step children.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA: with Rev. James R. Evilsizor officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
