Francis H. “Budd” Hollis
Francis H. “Budd” Hollis, 96, of Philipsburg, PA, died on Friday, August 8, 2022, at Windy Hill Village PSL in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on October 31, 1925, in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the son of the late Martin & Edith (Haverlock) Hollis. He married Jane C.(Blasko) Hollis on June 12, 1954, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA; she preceded him in death on March 21, 2022.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA; a member of VFW Post #5020 in Osceola Mills, PA; a member of the Clearfield Hobby Garden Club; a member of the Chinkalamoose Square Dance Club in Clearfield, PA; a member of the American Legion; and was one of the founders of the Osceola Mills food bank.
Budd was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was the owner of the Hollis Garden Center and was the former Groundskeeper for the County National Bank. He graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School in 2002 and received his Master Gardner from Penn State University.
He enjoyed camping; playing guitar and harmonica; gardening; and baking fruit cake. Every night he had peanut butter ripple ice cream.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Francis Patrick “Pat” Hollis; two sisters, Cecelia Williams and Mary Liinangi; and a brother, Martin Hollis.
Budd is survived by two daughters, Janine Brungart & her husband Tim of Philipsburg, PA and Annette James & her husband Pat of Philipsburg, PA; two sons, Jerry Hollis & his wife Lucy of La Mirada, CA and Dan Hollis & his wife Dawn of Etters, PA; five grandchildren, Landin Hollis & his wife Kristin, Logan Hollis & his wife Molly, Aaron James, Kyra James and Jalyn James and three grand-dogs, Peter, Ruger & Rocky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 12, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA with Rev. Father William Barron, Celebrant. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Service, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
