Chester Hockenberry
Chester Hockenberry, 93, of Little River, SC and formerly of Osceola Mills, PA died on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the home of his daugher and son-in-law, Joanie & Doug Pfahl of Little River, SC.
Born on January 31, 1929, in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the son of the late William Erman & Annie (Torreance) Hockenberry. He married Joylene A. Tompkins on May 26, 1951, in Woodland, PA; she preceded him in death on January 6, 2014.
Chester was of the Christian Faith. He was a retired Road Construction Laborer for Union Local #66.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three infant children; two sisters, Isabel Showers and Mary Mae Bryan; two brothers, Joseph Hockenberry and Erman Hockenberry; and a grandson, Joseph Hockenberry.
He is survived by two daughters, Joanie M. Pfahl & her husband Doug of Little River, SC and Cathie I. Hazel & her husband Tom of Woodland, PA,; two sons, Marvin W. Hockenberry & his wife Teresa of Philipsburg, PA and Ronald C. Hockenberry & his wife Eunice of Glendale, AZ; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Pastor Loren Woods will officiate. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
