Ralph J. Hess
Ralph J. Hess, 88, of Osceola Mills, PA died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Windy Hill Village P.S.L. in Philipsburg, PA.
Born on October 18, 1927 on Osceola Mills, PA he was the son of the late Ralph F and Della (Dunlap) Hess. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Millward) Hess who he married on June 22, 1952 at the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hess was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church. He was a WWII veteran serving in the 
U.S. Army Air Corps, a member of the VFW Post #5020, Osceola Mills, PA. He was a retired Parole Officer for the PA State Board of Parole and Probation, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a 1945 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School and attended Clarion State College. He loved his family very much and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Nancy (Hess) Erwin.
He is survived by: two daughters Jane A. Hess of Rockville, MD and Mary Vancas & her husband Edward of Osceola Mills PA; and a brother William E. “Mope” Hess of Osceola Mills, PA.
The Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA; with Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Internment will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Friends will be received on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
