William R. Hayward

William R. Hayward, 79 of Houtzdale, PA, died on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Mt. Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.

He was born on April 21, 1943 in Houtzdale, PA, the son of the late William A. & Elsie (Kizer) Hayward.  He married  Helen M. Carns on May 4, 1968 in Winchester, VA; she preceded him in death on September 7, 2017.

William was of the Christian Faith.  He was a member of the Osceola Lodge # 515 F & A M in Osceola Mills, PA and the L.O.O.Moose #327 in Houtzdale, PA.  He was retired from the former Howes Leather in Curwensville, PA as the Plant Manager and was previously employed by the former K & J Coal Company in Westover, PA.  He had received his GED.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Chieppor and a brother,Thomas Hayward.

William is survived by a son, William J. Hayward & his wife Lynn Ann of Osceola Mills, PA; four grandchildren, Breana, Hannah, Olivia and Jason; and numerous nieces and nephews.

At Bill’s request, there will be no services or viewing.  Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
