Donna Mae Harry, 67 of West Decatur passed away Sunday September 9, 2012 at Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg, PA
Our Lord has embraced Donna into His everlasting loving presence on September 9, 2012 at the Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg, PA. She has transitioned to her eternal home in heaven because of her hope of glory in Christ Jesus her Lord and Savior.
Donna was born on September 19, 1944 in Osceola Mills, PA to Orland and Irene (Mayhue) Kephart. She was the youngest of four children. Donna was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, DeWayne Kephart; and an infant sister, Shirley Kephart. Living siblings are: Charles Kephart & his wife Elanor of Lockport, NY and their daughters, Kathy Kephart & Debbie Ulrich (Ron) of Texas; DeWayne’s widow Diane of Osceola Mills, PA and their children, Barry of Osceola Mills, Beth Ann Muir of Frackville, Brent (Tina) of Bellefonte; Gail Royer & husband DeWayne of Mackeyville, PA and their children, Doug (Cindy) of Lititz, PA and Pam (Orie) Hendershot of West Decatur,PA.
Donna was a 1962 graduate of Philipsburg – Osceola Mills High School.
She married Harold Harry of West Decatur on September 21, 1963. They have two children: Tonya Balon (Michale) of Orion, MI and Todd (Amy) Harry of Mount Holly Springs, PA. Harold & Donna have six grandchildren: Bridget (Balon) Seales (Joseph) of Ebensburg, PA; Meghan & Kathleen Balon of Orion, MI; and Jamie, Andrea & Jenny Harry of Mount Holly Springs, PA.
Donna stood beside her husband in the ministry for over 40 years. She was a member of the Ohio United Methodist Church, where she taught kindergarten age Sunday school for 18 years. She was also a member of the Faith Bible Church in Lumbar City, PA where her husband retired.
She had a great passion for raising money for the Beacon Lodge in Huntingdon for the blind. She loved traveling with her husband and friends, Greg and Bonnie Selfridge. They traveled to many states and she had the privilege to travel to Brazil for a mission trip, where her husband was the invited guest speaker.
She had a great love for her entire family. She was in the banking industry for 18 years.
Donna battled cancer for more than three years with great faith, grace and as a remarkable witness to those taking care of her.
She now embraces her Lord face to face in His eternal reality.
Funeral Services will be held at the Ohio United Methodist Church in Morgan Run on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Smith, Reverends Joe and Arlene Rohrbacker, Pastor Scott Schultz, Pastor Roger McGary, and Greg Selfridge officiating. Burial will be at the Sanborn cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to funeral time at the church.
