John Hajzak
John Hajzak, 95, of Morrisdale, PA, formerly of Osceola Mills, PA, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the Dayspring Personal Care Home in Morrisdale, PA.
He was the son of the late Michael & Anna (Palochko) Hajzak, born on March 4, 1917 in Osceola Mills, PA. He was married to Patricia (Patterson) Hajzak, who preceded him in death on February 17, 1986.
Mr. Hajzak was of the Christian Faith. He was a Life Member of the Hope Fire Company in Philipsburg, PA. He was a US Army Veteran of WW II and a Canadian Army Veteran of WW II.
He retired from the maintenance department of the Philipsburg-Osceola Elementary School and worked at the former Buick Garage in Philipsburg, PA. He was a 1935 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Mary Yanik and Ann Bearer; four brothers, George, Michael, Steve and Paul Hajzak; a granddaughter, Julie Williams; and a grandson, John Stephen Frank.
Mr. Hajzak is survived by: two daughters, Ruth Williams & her husband Jack of Woodland, PA and Mary Ann Frank & her companion Aaron JR Cole of Milesburg, PA; a son, John Paul Hajzak & his wife Lynne of Hesston, PA; two brothers, Peter Hajzak & his wife Rosemary of Bermington, NC and Andrew Hajzak & his wife Delores of Osceola Mills, PA; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA, with Pastor Donald Smith officiating. Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery in Rural Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills, Honor Guard.
