Joseph John Golemboski
Joseph John Golemboski, 75, of Sandy Ridge, PA died on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the James E. VanZant VA Medical Center in Altoona, PA.
Born on March 31, 1943 in Decatur Township, PA he was the son of the late Joseph & Helen (Mital) Golemboski. He married Marlene J. (Sharpless) Golemboski on February 16, 1991 in Sandy Ridge, PA: she survives at home. He was previously married to Mary Janet (Friday) Golemboski who preceded him in death.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA.
Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and had received the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5020 in Osceola Mills, PA and a member of the Philipsburg American Legion. He was retired from the Charles Navasky Company in Philipsburg, PA.
In addition to his parents and his first wife he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Donna Teresa Golemboski; and a stepson, Shane Slotter.
Along with his wife he is survived by: two step daughters, Charlene Witherite & her husband Jerry of Walleston, PA and Elva Shoemaker & her husband Barry of Philipsburg, PA; two sons, Joseph Golemboski & his wife LaRue of Altoona, PA and Thomas Golemboski & his companion Bertha Reams of Osceola Mills, PA; one step son, Richard Harlow & his wife Sandy of (Sanborn) Houtzdale, PA; five sisters, Helen Kolivosky & her husband John of Morrisdale, PA, Anna Demchak & her husband John of Osceola Mills, PA, Barbara Shinafelt of Philipsburg, PA, Mary Golemboski of Osceola Mills, PA and Katherine Jones; and two brothers, Ronald Golemboski & his wife Cynthia of Philipsburg, PA and Michael Golemboski & his wife Karen of Brockway, PA. He is also survived by: eleven grandchildren, Corey, Tiffany, Dawn, Rae, Claire, Luther, Reese, Barry, Jr., Amanda, Joshua and Bryant; and four great-grandchildren, Damian, Riley, Madison and Carson.
The Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA with Deacon Dennis Socash officiating. Burial will be at the Saint Joseph Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to funeral time at the funeral home.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Military Honors will accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
