George “Ted” E. Gallaher, Sr.
George “Ted” E. Gallaher, Sr., 85, of Clearfield, PA passed away peacefully at his home on February 15th 2022. Born on March 9th 1936 in Philipsburg, PA he is the son of the late Craig and Rebecca (Knepp) Gallaher.
Preceded in death by his parents and sons David, George and Tim; brothers, Clair and Dorsey; three sisters, Geraldine, Connie and Jane.
Survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years Ethel (Maines) Gallaher, married on October 7th, 1955: their children, Cindy and her husband Ernie Mattern of Lecontes Mills, Debra Lyon of Clearfield, Robert and his wife Donna Gallaher of Clearfield, Penny and her husband David Sevek of Poconos, Brenda Coudriet of Clearfield and Amy Jo and her husband Alex Dixon of Grassflat. Two sisters, June Lucas and her husband Lee of Munson and Doris Hudish of Lanse. Two brothers, Walter Gallaher of Munson and Larry Gallaher and his wife Darlene of Wallaceton. He was loved by dozens of grandkids and even more great grandkids.
He proudly served twenty-three years in the U.S. Army and thirty-five years in the honor guard. He belonged to the West Decatur sportsman’s, Clearfield Eagles, Clearfield Legion and Clearfield VFW.
He loved to go hunting and fishing He was also a truck driver for most of his life. He attended Mt. Joy Church. He is deeply missed by many family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
