Sharan,
Our Mom is a resident at the Bridges of Bent Creek. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Valerie. God truly needed a special angel to call her home. She was just such a joy to see when we arrived at the Bridges. She always had a smile on her face. She will be missed very much. Your family has gone through a difficult time but lean on God’s strength to see you through.

My sincerest sympathies go out to Valerie’s family. The news of her passing greatly saddens me. I was very fortunate to have worked with Valerie on weekends at The Bridges. Although I only worked with Val for a short period of time, I can honestly say that she has touched my life. She always had a kind word for both residents, and staff at the Bridges. She never addressed anyone, without calling them honey, or sweetie, of some other term of endearment. When I am at work this Saturday, I will no doubt have Valerie on my mind. Her genuine love of her pets, the little stories she shared about them, along with her warm & caring personality will certainly be missed, this weekend, and all future weekends that I would have worked with Val. My prayers and thoughts are with Val, her family, friends, and all of her pets that she loved so much!

Sharan,
I had the good fortune to know Valerie over the last several years. And, while we didn’t work side by side every day, we always managed to be able to share our life stories. This kind of colleague is rare; it seems that very few people know how to share in life, to be able to talk with you and listen when you need it. Valerie became more than a colleague; she became my friend and I am truly sorry to lose her friendship. I can only offer my sincere sympathy to you at your time of loss.
RIP Val!

Sharan, I am the Secretary to the Superintendent and School Board of the Clearfield Area School District. I was shocked and saddened to read about Valerie. Over the years, Valerie has come to my aid many times. When it comes to all things policy, Valerie was the best. I truly must have made her nuts at times with all my requests. I am going to miss working with Valerie. Since I grew up in Clearfield and Valerie was from Philipsburg, we could share some common stories. I enjoyed every email or conversation we had. When I read Valerie’s guestbook before posting this, I could see I am not the only one who will forever hold her with fond memories even though I did not know her well. After reading about Valerie’s love for God, people and four-legged friends, I wish we would have talked more in depth with each other. We have all those things in common.
I hope I don’t offend you by saying I can appreciate where you are right now as a last survivor. I am one also. I know that God will sustain you now and always. I am sending a big hug your way and one to Valerie too! We will all meet someday, and I promise I will not ask Valerie for a policy!

Dear Sharan,
Please know you are in my prayers; my heart is heavy for you with the loss of your two dear sisters.
I know the Lord will provide the strength & comfort, but I’m sure it will not be easy.
A piece of genuine love, joy & sparkle left this earth when Valerie departed this life for her eternal existence. We can only imagine the worship & joy she is now expereinceing. Just think of what your Mom, Dad, & Karen thought when Valerie showed up! Our hope is in the Lord!!
Take care of yourself. I would love to hear from you in the future if you had the time. The best way is my work email: tesavisk@roberts.edu Otherwise I keep tabs on you through my Mom.
With love & prayers,
Kathy

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this great lady. Even though Valerie only worked part-time here at the Bridges at Bent Creek…I have to say she touched a lot of lives each and every day she worked. She will be truly missed.
The Bridge at Bent Creek
We at the Bridges, know how special Valerie was as a Team Member of our community. Her outgoing personality, love of our residents, ability to spontaneously ‘Celebrate Life’ as a member of our Bridges’ family, willingness to “go above and beyond” when residents or family members needed a question answeered or something taken care of, positive outlook on life, love of God’s four-legged creatures and very strong faith will certainly be remebered. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to her niece, Jessica, who works PT here in the Garden (dementia unit) in the evening hours, her sister, Sharon, who are all in shock, like we are, and are going to miss her so very much. She left a mark here at the Bridges, as she touched ever so many lives!

Dear Karen,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Valerie at Bridges at Bent Creek for about 4 years. She will be missed. She was a very friendly & lovely woman. I enjoyed her humor. You just need to remember the good times that you had with her. I know how hard it is to lose a sister, but it gets easier every year. I still want to call and talk to my sister sometimes. Just remember that Valerie is in a wonderful place and with your other sister. You take care and God bless you.
Love,
Patti Yancy
