Velma M. Finney
Velma M. Finney, 87, of (Ashland) Osceola Mills, PA died on April 27, 2019 at her home.
Born on July 5, 1931 in Osceola Mills, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Lillian (Warren) Wilks. She married George R. Finney on September 9, 1950 at the Church of God in Brisbin, PA. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2009.
She was a member of the Ashland Wesleyan Church in Ashland.
She had worked for the former Campolong Sewing Factory and was a graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: seven sisters, Bertha Russell, Eliza Hayward, Alice Kenney, Hazel Lowe, Gloria Thompson, Mary Phillips and Dora Gavlack; and one brother, Fred Wilks.
She is survived by: two daughters, Sherry Shimmel of (Ashland) Osceola Mills, PA and Shelley Hampton & her husband Wally of Osceola Mills, PA; and one granddaughter, Keri Kanouff & her husband Charlie P. of Houtzdale, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashland Wesleyan Church: with Rev. Howard Cilento, Rev. Joe Rohrbacker and Rev. Arlene Rohrbacker co-officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brisbin, PA.
