William “Bill” Lyle Fink
William “Bill” Lyle Fink of Osceola Mills, PA passed away on August 30, 2021 at the age of 86 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA with his bride of 65 years, Doris “Toy” Fink, at his side.
He was the son of the late Wade L. and Bessie (Zerby) Fink. He married Doris (Stranko) Fink on November 24, 1957 in Winchester, VA: she survives at home.
Bill was a member of Saint Pauls Espiscopal Church in Philipsburg, PA.
Bill was a compassionate and kind husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Bill was born October 17, 1934 in Philipsburg, PA where he would later return to the area with his wife and raise their son, Alan. Here, along with the rest of the Fink Family, he would join Nittany Nation and cheer on the Penn State football and athletic programs.
Bill will be remembered as a talker and tinkerer, able to find a friend in anyone and able to fix any problem. He was seldom seen without a smile on his face or loose change jingling in his pocket. He was an adventurer and world traveler, seeing and experiencing the world through three decades of service in the United States Navy, countless trips with family, and journeys by motor home with friends throughout the nation. Bill had a passion for woodworking, instilling his love and skills with his family and sharing his creations and crafts with everyone he knew. His love for family was evident as he traced endless branches of the family tree, linking centuries of generations throughout the world or just through Central Pennsylvania.
Bill spent his final days celebrating the gift of family and delicious food at the Centre County Grange Fair. He was able to reconnect with countless family members and friends while introducing his great-grandson to the family tradition.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Alan L. Fink.
Along with wife, he is survived by: his adopted daughter, Kelley Suwak of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Johan Farrar of Tunkhannock, PA; one brother, Lynn Fink & his wife Alice of State College, PA; one grandson, Matthew A. Fink & his wife Gabriella; and one great-grandson, Declan W. Fink; nephews and nieces, Jeff, Scott, Doug, Heather and Linda.
