Dr. Metro Ferrance
Dr. Metro Ferrance, 85, of Philipsburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 28th. Born August 5, 1937 in Barnesboro to Metro Ferrance Sr, and Julia (Drotar) Ferrance, he moved to Philipsburg in 1964 to open his chiropractic practice, which he maintained until his retirement in 2005. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his ex-wife, Carol (Reveal) Ferrance and a sister, Yvonne Ferrance.
He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a faithful parishioner of St John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Hawk Run, and a founding member of the Chiropractic Fellowship of Pennsylvania. Graduated from the former Barnesboro High School class of 1955. He attended the Moline Community College, Moline, IL. He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College, Davenport, Iowa in 1963.
He is survived by his children, Dr Michael Ferrance of Philipsburg and his wife Cindy Queen Ferrance, Anna Marie Dawes of Philipsburg, Dr Randy Ferrance of Mechanicsville, VA, and his wife, Theresa (Reiner) Ferrance. Grandchildren include Carl Dawes of Clearfield, PA, Andrew Dawes currently serving the Air Force in Kansas, Theresa (Traci) Ferrance and her husband David Coburn of Chesterfield, VA, Jacquelyn Lineberry and her husband Anthony Lineberry of Glen Allen, VA, and Randall Ferrance and his wife, Sara, of Clifton, VA. There are two great-children, Isabel Ferrance and Alexandra Coburn. He is also survived by a brother, Richard Ferrance and his wife, Sandy of Northern Cambria, PA, and their six children.
Divine Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. John Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Hawk Run, PA, with Father James Ragan as celebrant.
Friends will be received at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA on Friday, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the church. Metro will be laid to rest beside his parents and sister in St. John Byzantine Catholic Cemetery in Northern Cambria, PA.
Parastas will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
