H. James Evans
H. James Evans, 84, of Philipsburg, PA died on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in Morris Township.
Born on July 20, 1938 in Brisbin, PA, he was the son of the late James R. & Lucy P. (Greenland) Evans. He married Jonalie Ritchie on May 6, 1961 at the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church; she survives at home.
He was a member of the Lanse Evangelical Free Church in Lanse, PA.
He was a retired Machinist for the former Piper Aircraft. He was a 1957 graduate of the former Osceola Mills High School and earned a Machine Shop Certificate from the Bellefonte Area Senior High School.
Jim loved spending time with his friends and family at the American Diner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John R. Evans; and a sister, Rebecca Horton.
Along with his wife, Jim is survived by two daughters, Lora A. Evans of Hobe Sound, FL and Jamie L. Whitehead & her husband Jim of Philipsburg, PA; a son, Jim Evans & his wife Darbie of Spring Mills, PA; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jaclyn, Ian, Michala, Kylie, Noah and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Evelyn; a daughter-in-law, Judy Evans of Allentown, PA; two nieces, Mary “Toots” Wilson and Debbie Myers; and his four legged companion Daisy.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Heath funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, PA. Pastor Matthew Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
