Willard C. Dixon
Willard C. Dixon, 71, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the UPMC Altoona Hospital in Altoona, PA.
Born on November 18, 1946 in West Decatur, PA he was the son of the late Robert Bruce & Edna (Oswalt) Dixon. He married Margaret R. (Dixon) Dixon on February 5, 1966 at the Ohio United Methodist Church in Osceola Mills, PA: she survives at home.
Willard was of the Christian Faith.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a Civil War reenactor with the 148th. Company C, PA Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Bellefonte, PA and a former coach for the Osceola Mills Little League. He was a 1965 graduate of the Philipsburg Osceola Mills High School and retired as manager for the Moshannon Valley Sewage Treatment Plant in Philipsburg, PA.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry Dixon, Franklin Dixon and Gerald Dixon.
Along with his wife he is survived by: two daughters, Crystal Burghardt & her husband William of McKeesport, PA and Patricia Litz of Raeford, NC; one son, Daniel Dixon of Bellefonte, PA; three sisters, Ellen Jane Scaife & her husband Richard of Philipsburg, PA, Edith “Duffy” Pattterson & her husband Blaine of Osceola Mills, PA and Irene Williams & her husband Willard of Port Matilda, PA; three brothers, Calvin L. Dixon & his wife Vicky of Houtzdale, PA, Walter L. Dixon & his wife Alice of Boalsburg, PA, Blair E. Dixon of Philipsburg, PA and Dale Dixon & his wife Cindy of Bellefonte, PA. He is also survived by: three grandchildren, Josh Dillon, Jessica Snow and Brett Dillon; and three great-grandchildren, Liberty, Georgiana and Alexis.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA: with Rev. Hiram Westover officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to funeral time at the funeral home.
