Joseph A. Dixon
Joseph A. Dixon, 70, of Philipsburg, PA died on Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on August 11, 1944 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Luther A. & Hettie A. (Maines) Dixon.
Mr. Dixon was of Christian faith and was employed at the former General Cigar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter Becky McGrath; four sisters, Gloria Dixon, Beverly Eirich, Joann Dixon and Martha Dixon; and one brother, Richard Dixon.
He is survived by: three daughters, Gloria J. Cool & her husband Benjamin of Abbottstown, PA, Carol S. Dixon & her companion Ken Hippensteel of Littlestown, PA and Peggy Woodring of Littlestown, PA; two sons, Joseph A Dixon, Jr. & his wife Melissa of Abbottstown, PA and Randy Irwin of Littlestown, PA; six sisters, Erma Conklin of West Decatur, PA, Violet Oswalt of West Decatur, PA, Barbara Quade & her companion Ken Phillips of Brisbin, PA, Dorothy Martin of Houtzdale, PA, Ethel Maines and her husband Archie of Osceola Mills, PA and Connie Beatty & her husband Harry of Philipsburg, PA; one brother Luther Dixon of Philipsburg, PA; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA with the Rev. Mark Melhorn officiating. Burial will be at the Reidy Cemetery in Wallaceton, PA.
Visitation will be on Friday at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral time at the funeral home.
