Mary Jane Demchak
Mary Jane Demchak, 88, of Osceola Mills, PA and formerly of Hollidaysburg, PA passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at her home.
She was the daughter of the late James & Ruth (Heininger) Rooney, born on August 22, 1925 in Hollidaysburg, PA. She married her first husband, Walter E. Price, Jr. on November 7, 1945 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg, PA, he preceded her in death on October 13, 1969. She married her second husband, Edward M. Demchak on Juy 24, 1971 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA, he preceded her in death on April 5, 1982.
Mrs. Demchak was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. She was a homemaker who was well known for her love of her family, caring for stray animals in need of shelter, and her love of flowers. She graduated from the Hollidaysburg High School.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen McCale and Marjorie Bingham.
Mrs. Demchak is survived by: a step-daughter, Kathleen Demchak & her husband Stephen R. Gleason of Julian, PA; a step-son, Edward G. Demchak of Laporte, PA; and two grandsons, Timothy Gleason and Jeffrey Gleason.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, PA, with Rev. Father Robert Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the Alto Reste Park Cemetery in Altoona, PA.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
