Pastor Leroy H. “Lee” Cowfer
Pastor Leroy H. “Lee” Cowfer, 82, of Philipsburg, PA died on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield, PA.
Born on January 28, 1939 in Port Matilda, PA he was the son of the late Thomas and Colorado (Cowher) Cowfer.
Lee was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Philipsburg, PA, a Core Officer in the Salvation Army, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Civil Air Patrol and was a member of the American Legion Post #437 in Philipsburg, PA of which he was a former chaplain. He was retired from the former Corning Glass and was a retired Pastor of the Church of God. He was a 1956 graduate of the Tyrone High School and graduated from the Altoona Bible Institute.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Naomi Tesky.
He is survived by: one daughter, Robin Tesky of Indiana; one son, Timothy A. Cowfer of Morrisdale, PA & his wife Traci; three brothers, William Cowfer & his wife Virginia of FL, Robert Cowfer & his wife Nancy of Tyrone, PA and James Cowfer & his wife Gladys of Port Matilda, PA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA: with Pastor Lael D. Duey officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Port Matilda, PA.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded by the Philipsburg American Legion Honor Guard at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
