Harriet Cowfer
Harriet Cowfer, 81, of Erie, PA died Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, PA.
Born on October 16, 1934 in Osceola Mills, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Catherine (O’Farrell) Penny. She married James W. Cowfer who preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Cowfer was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo, cards, reading, bird watching and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: four sisters, Catherine Penny, Sarah Socash, Margaret Colton and Ann Pollick; and an infant brother.
She is survived by: one daughter, Theresa Artz & her husband Dan of Erie, PA; one son, Larry Cowfer & his wife Giselle of Austin, TX; and two sisters Elizabeth Felix & her husband Andrew of Osceola Mills, PA and Delores Cowfer of Osceola Mills, PA. She is also survived by: five grandchildren, Heather Bochert, Danny Cowfer, Ron Taylor, BJ Cowfer and Stephanie McIntrye; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Cowfer; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Heath Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA; with Deacon Dennis Socash officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
