Norman R. Brown, Sr.
Norman R. Brown, Sr., 86, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home.
Born on October 12, 1931 in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the son of the late James and Ida (Osewalt) Brown. He married Ruth Ann (Love) Brown on September 22, 1956 in Houtzdale, PA, she survives at home.
He was a member of the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church.
He was a member of the Osceola Lodge #515 F & A M, the Altoona Consistory and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a former Philipsburg Osceola School Board Member of which he was president for four years, a member of the founding board of the C.I.U., a former member of the Osceola Mills Recreation Board, a Pack leader for the Cub Scouts #48 for eight years, a former member and president of the Umbria Cemetery Board, the Nittany Lion Club and was a Ruling Elder of the church.
Norman was a retired Housing Manager at the Penn State University and was a parking lot supervisor at Beaver Stadium for Penn State Football. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Brown.
Along with his wife, he is survived by: two daughters, Connie McCartney & her husband Tim of State College, PA and Linda Fetzer, & her husband Tom of State College, PA; two sons, Norman R. Brown, Jr. and his wife Lorie of State College, PA and James H. Brown & his wife Melissa of State College, PA; three sisters, Elaine Mathis of Osceola Mills, PA, Lorraine Gill & her husband Clarence of Boyertown, PA and Donna J. Henry of Osceola Mills, PA. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Todd Brown, Christen Latsley, Ashley Pankiw, Chelsea McCartney and Makayla Fetzer.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church; with Rev. Robert W. Bruinooge officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, PA.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Honors will be accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard at the cemetery.
