Jean Brocail
Jean Brocail, 93, of Philipsburg, PA and formerly of Osceola Mills died on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the Mt. Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA.
Born on October 22, 1927 in Osceola Mills, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Susann (Comitz) Buckeye.
She was a member of the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church and regularly attended the New Life Center in Philipsburg, PA. In addition she attended Grace United Methodist Church and 1st Presbyterian Church in Philipsburg, PA. She was a member of the Valley Voices in Philipsurg, PA
Jean was retired Administrative Staff at Penn State University. She was also a former Secretary of the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church, a former Girl Scout Leader, a former member of Presbyterian Women and a former President of the Osceola Mills PTA.
She graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School, class of 1945 where she was Valedictorian of her class. She then earned a two-year business degree from Altoona School of Commerce. Her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, macrame, calligraphy, poetry and cake decorating.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a son, George M. Brocail; two brothers, Michael “Mickey” Buckeye, Jr. and John “Jack” Buckeye; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy (Prestash) Buckeye.
Jean is survived by: three daughters, Susan Pysher & her husband Todd of Montgomery, PA, Jean Ann Hopkins & her husband Jack of Spring, TX and Barbara Davis of Philipsburg, PA; nine grandchildren, Michael Girardi, Matthew Girardi, Ryan Hopkins, Kirk Hopkins, Aron Hopkins, Ted Davis, Tiffany Hurtack, Brianna Van Ness and Josiah Davis; and eleven great-grandchildren, Skylar, Ava, Stella, Dylan, Presley, Kinley, Keegan, Cora, Keaton, Kaden and Max.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC in Osceola Mills, PA with Pastor John Dill officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 15th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian charity of the donor’s choice in her name.
