Sally A. Britton, 72, of Osceola Mills, PA died on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on November 12, 1942 in Philipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse & Jane (Jones) Shimmel. She married Ronald L. Britton on February 25, 1961 in Gearhartville, RD Philipsburg, PA; he survives at home.
Mrs. Britton was a member of the Corner Stone Commuity Fellowship Church in Wallaceton, PA. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two sisters, Betty Louise Shimmel and Madeline Shimmel; three brothers, Donald, Marvin and Ralph Shimmel; and three brothers-in-law, Ken Fetzer, Leroy Greslick and Randall Britton.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Britton is survived by: three daughters, Robin Lego & her husband Andrew of Osceola Mills, PA, Amy Perks & her husband Charles of Sharon, PA and Jodi Britton of Osceola Mills, PA; four sisters, Irene Greslick of Philipsburg, PA, Pat Houben & her husband William of Clarion, PA, Janie Rothrock & her husband George of Wallaceton, PA and Mary Fetzer of Philipsburg, PA; a brother, Robert Shimmel & his wife Jackye of Houtzdale, PA; seven grandchildren, Heather Lego & her companion Ron Hensal, Mark Lego & his wife McKenzie, Makenzie Britton, Riley Hassinger, Jaxon Bell, Logan Perks and Lucas Perks; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Shimmel and Cindy Britton.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA; with Rev. Matthew J. Scott officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, PA.
Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home.
