Virginia H. “Ginny” Arnold
Virginia H. “Ginny” Arnold, 83 of Altoona, PA formerly of Osceola Mills, PA and Tyrone, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Altoona, PA.
Born on October 15, 1928 in Tyrone, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin & Virginia (Getz) Harper. She was married in Osceola Mills, PA on January 10, 1948 to J. Eugene Arnold who preceded her in death on March 3, 2008.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Osceola Mills, PA. She enjoyed music, baking, gardening, and shopping with her daughters and sister.
She graduated from the Tyrone High School, class of 1947 and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Pearl Harper; four brothers, Robert D. Harper, Norman M. Harper, Melvin Clair Harper and an infant brother.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by two daughers, Sharon Burd & her husband Pastor Larry Burd of Bethlehem, PA and Peggy Conrad and her husband Leslie of Bald Eagle, PA; a brother, LeRoy Harper of State College, PA; five grandchildren, Nathan Burd, Amy Robbins, Evan Burd, Lisa Rader and Melanie McKinney; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, PA with Pastor Larry Burd officiating. Burial will be at the Bald Eagle Cemetery, RD Tyrone, PA.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at the funeral home.
